Our Story
For over thirty years, I dreamed of owning a flower farm. Last winter, I decided to take the plunge and get to work. I pored over seed catalogues and picked the flowers I love most— zinnias, ageratum, snapdragons, black-eyed susans, sunflowers, marigolds, asters, calendula, and more.
I installed grow lights in the cellar of my nineteenth-century farmhouse and cultivated these flowers from seeds, spritzing and babying them from March through May. On Memorial Day, my daughter and her friends came to visit, and the seven of us planted 1,200 seedlings in the ground.
Every day, I am astounded by the vibrancy and beauty of these flowers as they grow. Each bouquet from Fernhill Flower Farm is a labor of love, picked by hand, and filled with long-lasting seasonal blooms to brighten your day (and mine).
